Hello, my name is Barbara Paulo. I am a native to the Valley, and the owner of Shear Xtreme. Founded in 2003, with many years of experience as a professional stylist, I was ready to follow my dream of opening a salon that would exceed all my clients’ expectations of a visit to a salon. By creating an atmosphere where each client would feel welcomed, pampered and genuinely cared for and where fellow stylists with the same passion and dedication to hairdressing would be proud to call their own. Listening to your needs, creativity and artistry have inspired the concept of Consult, Create, Craft.

Lindsey was born in Western Massachusetts and has lived in Northampton since 2000. She is a graduate from Brio Academy. As a stylist, she enjoys employing her unique vision to help bring out the natural, inimitable beauty in others. Lindsey gains her inspiration from keeping up on current trends, without losing the influence of vintage styles. In the salon, she enjoys creative cutting by implementing advanced techniques such as: razor, texturizing, dry cutting, and more. She also enjoys giving an excellent clipper cut. Whatever the style, each of Lindsey’s cuts is carefully crafted for each unique individual in her chair. Lindsey is also a skilled colorist, whose work has taken on new dimensions, utilizing her Paul Mitchell Color training and frequent in-salon seminars. Whether it be Fantasy colors or traditional color application, she can create the perfect look and shade for you. Certified in keratin complex smoothing system, she can smooth your hair for a frizz-free, manageable finish. She also offers facial waxing, a natural and organic facial with gentle massage. In her spare time, Lindsey enjoys jewelry making, movie watching, thrift store shopping, and spending time with her cat, Sadie.
Kristin was born in California and moved here to the East Coast in 2008. She graduated from Smith Vocational High School from the Cosmetology department in 2018. While in school the opportunity was given to her to compete in Skills USA competition against six other school districts. Both years she took home the Bronze medal. As a student Kristin also became extension certified.
After graduating Kristin started her career at Shear Xtreme salon in June 2018, as well as joining the team of Beauty To Be Wedding styling and makeup. As a stylist she enjoys doing cuts, colors, balayage’s, highlighting, braiding, updo styles and makeup. Her inspiration for Cosmetology comes from the joy of satisfied clients. As Kristin grows as a stylist she continues her education in many directions. In the Cosmetology profession it is key to stay up with trends so Kristin often goes to educational classes. Along with this education she also is starting classes at Greenfield Community College with a transfer into Umass. Over these four years she plans to study Business.
Her family continues to be her inspiration. As she is one of seven half siblings. Kristin’s energy and drive comes from her mother who is her rock.
